March 9, 2024 The Day article titled Town restarts process to decide future of Groton Heights, Pleasant Valley schools quotes GCA Steering Committee member, Beatrice Mills, who spoke on behalf of Groton Conservation Advocates at the Town Council public hearing about the rich variety of tree species on the Pleasant Valley property. “We urge the town not to sell the portion of the property that is forested but to preserve it as much-needed open space on the west end of Groton.”

June 28, 2023 The Day GCA Steering Committee member Kristen Earls spoke in favor of the Groton Planning and Zoning Commission’s proposed regulations. Her remarks supporting the regulations were quoted in The Day’s article titled Groton Approves Regions First Data Center Regulations.

February 27, 2023 The Day GCA Board director Zell Steever was quoted in an article published in the Day about the restoration of Shore Line East service to pre-pandemic levels.

December 28, 2022 The Day Liz Raisbeck, Groton Conservation Advocates co-chair, wrote a Letter to the Editor commending the Town of Groton for its purchase of the Wolfebrook property on Noank-Ledyard Road, while also noting GCA’s role in raising $48,000 towards the purchase.

December 16, 2022 The Day by Kimberly Drelich Residents, officials voice support for commuter rail expansion. Of the ~fifty people who attended the meeting held at the Naval Sub Base on December 15, 2022, at least 25% were GCA members. The idea to expand rail service from New London to Westerly and Norwich is the brainchild of Zell Steever, member of GCA’s Board of Directors.
